Let Me explain why I think that our government and our people should support this ongoing war in Iraq and afghanistan. I Believe that our country must stay the course of this war that so many of our people and the Iraqi people have suffered and died for. This is a war that should have never been started to stop the war now would not only weaken the belief that democracy can really work for this country. Iraq and their people would lose faith in the belief that there really is a better way of life worth fighting for. This would not only bring a new supply of young people to support This twisted View Of religion that men like Osama Bin Laden are teaching making more future death machines out of more young children. This would only prolong the cycle of war and terror that this country and the world would have to deal with in the future.

I believe that our government has to sit down together and find a way to succeed in this war before this country creates another generation of people for men like Osama Bin Laden can use to strengthen his twisted religious beliefs. This will only make it hard for the next generations of our families to have to deal with. I do not believe that their is any other choice then to support our troops in every way that we can and help bring about a successful end to this war.

I believe that this nation and their people mostly do want peace and growth for the next generation of Iraqi people. I think to run out on this country now would only bring a bigger and longer war through the middle east. These two countries Iraq and Afghanistan must be made a shining example of how real democracy can and must work. The longer our government fights over this war the longer it will go on.

I believe that all our government better start working together to bring a successful end to this war that so many or our troops have fought and died for. It is not important now who was for this war and who was not just get together on the same page and make Iraq a real democratic allies instead of future terrorist allies of men like Osama Bin Laden. This war can go down two ways in history. One as the biggest blunder our country ever made. The second is the better choice to finish this war and create a future country of allies that will stand by our nation.

To walk out of this mess now will weaken our nation the next time some country wants help from our nation. Countries will always believe that when the going gets tough our country will back away and leave them to stand alone. Having Iraq as a long term future ally will give our country the perfect way to show these other countries in the middle east that democracy really does work. I believe that if our country runs away this will give twisted men like Osama Bin Laden a feeding ground of people to fill with his twisted ideas of religion that will result in thousands of new death machines out of these young children. Even these children should have a future where they really learn the true words of God and not this twisted religious view of endless death.

Other wise our government is telling all the troops that have died or been crippled in this war was for nothing. This government started this war now lets not let all this death on both sides be for nothing. Instead of fighting to stop this war get together and find ways the get the Iraqi government working to help end this war. This war is hard for all our people but it has to hardest on the troops to hear that they are fighting and dying just to be told they are fighting for nothing. Think about how much harder it will be for our troops to come home remembering that all this death and horror that have lived and seen was for nothing? Remember these are the people that have to believe that all this death wa for a better way of life for a new nation. I believe that living with all the scars and terrible memories these troops will remember must have a cause that they can mentally connect with. Other wise our troops will only remember all the worthless death they were a part of.

Death and horror are hard for any person to live with but take away the reason why our troops fight for will leave nothing but the memories of death and blood that our troops have seen . life will be hard enough for our troops to get on with when they come home. I believe that to take away the reason for all this death would just leave these troops with and empty feeling of accomplishment.

This is why I support our troops for a great success in this fight and war.

As always I write with respect

During the past year, we have been hearing from conservatives and others about the need to cut government spending, the federal deficit is out of control and our children and grandchildren will have to bear the cost and the country will become bankrupt. This appears to be new calling from the right, and was never heard during the years of the last administration when taxes were cut for the wealthy while waging two unpopular wars with escalating costs. President Bush signed a prescription drug bill into law that cost the taxpayers more than was “estimated” by the administration, along with a costly No Child Left Behind bill that allowed the government to intrude into locally managed public schools on a large scale.

These programs were initiated by the Bush administration to placate the left and to authenticate President Bush’s campaign promise of a compassionate conservative. The Bush administration went on to start two wars, with the largest amount of military spending in the history of the country, taking the $236 billion surplus, blowing through it in the first year and turning it into a $407 billion deficit by the time President Obama took office.

While we are cutting government budgets at every level, cutting programs for education, children, the poor and seniors, no one talks about cutting back on the defense budget. In fact defense spending increased from 2009 by $40 to $50 billion. The 2010 defense budget is $663.8 billion, $16 billion more than President Obama had requested. And there could be an additional $40 or $50 billion added by spring of 2010 for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq bringing the total to between $880 billion to $1.03 trillion. But no one is outraged by these numbers, at least not the conservatives. John McCain, Senate Republican leader, Mitch McConnell and others, including some Democrats support off the charts military spending.

Why then, when United States military spending comprises 54% of our federal budget, adds up to more than the fifteen other industrialized nations combined, twelve of these nations our allies, are we not looking to cut this money pit and wasteful spending? It is taking away from domestic spending and in fact making us less safe. For Americans to not have affordable health care, jobs, be able to stay in their homes, is that not national security and aren’t we less safe as a people?

Budget deficits began to explode under the watch of Ronald Reagan, who cut the tax rate for the wealthiest of Americans from seventy percent to thirty-eight percent saying at the time that this would stimulate investment, create more jobs for the middle class and the economy would soar with new levels of production and prosperity. But history has shown that supply side economics, Reagan’s trickle down theory, does not work. Reagan’s policies produced the deepest recession since the Great Depression. Unemployment peaked at 10.8% by December 1982. And we have had a deficit ever since, up until the Clinton Administration when President Clinton reversed Reagan’s tax policy, increasing taxes on the wealthy and lowering them on the working and middle class, creating a budget surplus and the longest sustained economic recovery in the history of our nation. This allowed the government to begin to pay down the debt began by President Reagan. This throws out the old theory that Democrats tax and spend.

President Reagan said at the time, that pot holes are not important and he set about to cut domestic spending while at the same time increasing military spending by forty-three percent by the time he left office in 1989. He in fact increased the military budget by much more than he was able to cut domestic spending. Ten’s of thousands more troops were employed along with more weapons and equipment and he ratcheted up intelligence. He promoted the SDI (Strategic Defense Initiative) commonly known as Star Wars. The thought at the time was that by putting defenses in outer space, the United Nations ABM (Anti Ballistic Missile) treaty could be circumvented. By 1985, after billions had been spent with minimal results, SDI was shut down.

Where, then could we make cuts and still keep our citizens safe? We might look at closing a portion of the 737 military bases overseas employing more than 2,500,000 U.S. personnel. An estimated worth of these bases by Department of Defense in 2005 was $658.1 billion.

Of course when we broach this to countries like Germany, they balk at the very idea, saying that closing bases in their country would ruin the economies of the towns where these bases are located. Are we willing to pour millions of dollars into foreign economies while our economy is languishing?

Another area to cut would be nuclear war heads, which President Obama is already considering. We are maintaining a current arsenal of 9,960 intact warheads, of which 5,735 are considered active or operational. The cost of maintaining them, according to the Los Angeles Times was 52.4 billion in 2008. How many bombs do we need? The cost to store, maintain and transport these weapons is high. In fact the whole idea of nuclear weapons is to prevent our enemies from dropping one or more on us. And we need to remember that we are the only country in the world that has used nuclear bombs during war.

The highly advanced technology of the communication network has greatly evolved over the years. It is now offering excellent connectivity around the globe. Exchanging news and information is not a difficult task now. The invention of radio and telephone has played a major role in these innovations. The long-range radio communication is one among the areas that is of great help to the communication. The latest technologies like radar and satellite have been phenomenal in the innovation we witness today. The technology has improved greatly even enabling the communication from outer space.

The government and the defense forces have greatly contributed to the overall development in the communication scenario. They are in need of effective communication facilities and this makes them engage in constant research. The research and development by the military division have been great in introducing newer technologies into the world. In fact, internet is also an outcome of such a research.

Communication in the defense forces are of great importance as the security of a country depends greatly on the services offered by the military and border security forces. Thus, an efficient radio communication system is crucial. This system must make use of high and undisturbed frequency that enables the military personals to communicate with the base stations and higher officials. Military headphones are used for the individual communication requirements.

Headsets are the coded or wireless receivers that enable the receiving of undisturbed radio signals. Clarity is one of the most important advantages of headsets. Making radio signals portable and private is another benefit of headphones and headsets. The user will be able to receive the signals even in the noisy as well as crowded environments. The high quality is because of the reduction in outside noises. The conventional bulky models are not in use anymore. The latest headphones are compact and increase the portability of the device. Headsets and headphones are also used for entertainment purpose by the common people.

The military headsets are far superior to the normal ones. It is specially designed to reduce the outside noises completely. Aviation industry also makes use of the superior headsets. Air force makes use of great technology in the case of headsets and headphones as for them it is far more important.

The military headsets and headphones are similar to the normal headphones. The only difference between the two is the technology of military headphones to receive frequency of different ranges through tuning. The confidential messages passed between the military officers cannot be passed through the normal speakers and receivers. Top security messages are also received through headsets.

Headphones complement with the confidentiality of their messages perfectly. This is the reason why the headphones and headsets are considered extremely crucial to the military forces.

The military forces are using headsets and headphones from a long time. The efficiency of a military force greatly depends on the quality of communication mediums they are using. The ability of the military headsets and headphones to subtlest even the minute sounds acutely makes it a great mode of communication in noisy environments like war fronts.

(A true account, while in Egypt, 1998)

Not one police guard or soldier saw him, other than the soldier captain, and the guide who was with the stranger in the unanimous dark night, standing between the two large feet of the Sphinx, in Egypt, outside of Cairo. But in a few minutes there would be no one who did not know the taciturn man who came from America, who now stood deeply inside those two paws of the Sphinx (side by side)-no one that is within a mile from the Sphinx, he took a picture with his camera, a flash that lit up the midnight area. What was certain was that the man climbed up alongside of the Sphinx, without noticing the all-purpose police, the guards of the Sphinx, those who saw his camera’s flash, nauseated they were not to have been told of his presence, and bloodthirsty for money, it cost $1400, to do what he was doing for $140-dollars, of which he paid only the guide and Captain of the Army, stationed by the Sphinx. This area was likened to a sacred temple, which devoured centuries of ancient rituals, pious devotion, and holy mist within its desert surroundings. Although it would seem, the god or demigod that encased, or enshrined this ancient wonder, no longer received the homage of men, not at least as in the ancient days of Egypt. This stranger, tourist, stretched himself upward as if to sit upon the Sphinx, its body, as his pedestal; he was awakened by the guide, whom was frightened of some kind of spiritual, and military retaliation. The stranger was astonished to find the guard’s words trembled and had weakened; there was a determination to get him out of there quickly.

He knew this place required his most invisible intent, meaning, the ruins belonged to the ancient gods of the dead, and all whom was to experience it, needed to pay a reverence duty, to all the guards, and police and soldiers, making the sum-as I mentioned before-sum total of: $1400-dollars (consequently, only two people got paid with that lesser sum, whereas there were several unpaid).

What he was to the police guard that was rushing up to see what the flash was, would be nothing less than a spy, disrespectfully on his shift, and the Captain of the Army (that is, the soldier or soldiers that were assigned to guard the sphinx) was to be his protection, yet he, the Captain was the only soldier present, was fearful of the magic, and power and chill of the moment, as they all looked at the stranger, near the dilapidating Sphinx.

Prior to all this, when the stranger was near the chest of the Sphinx, looking up at its head, the evil spirit within its strata-staring down upon him (of which he could sense), it seemed to have guided him to that near impossible dilemma he’d find himself in, within a matter of minutes, through the supernatural spirit within those ancient stone walls of the Sphinx (perhaps it was Seth). There was a near magic projection that was exhausting the proximity of the expanse, and in his mind, as well, which contained the presence of the inhabited ruins, for it seemed to contain a minimum of the visible world (yet remaining imprisoned with no body and needing one to activate his evil intentions), where his presence was nourishment enough for him to be activated-would be in the police guard that would confront the stranger, which was consecrated to the sole task of bringing chaotic into his new amphitheatre, the one he now found himself in.

The young police guard lectured the stranger, an examination took place-an inquisitive one, one with vengeance written all over his face, and the stranger intuitively knew he was sent by Seth, as his physical phantom- the stranger sensed the perplexities, a growing intelligence in the body of the police guard, Seth was seeking a soul, worthy of participating in his universe, thus the police guard pulled forward and raised up his automatic rifle, passively the stranger looked, was ready to react-pretending he was not going to oppose him, yet the stranger saw in his eyes, he’d be buried in the sands of the Egyptian desert, should he not react, but he prayed silently, not saying a word, not answering a question, and then came another stranger, and he dismissed the vast illusory guard, telling the stranger, “You have good fortune, you would have been shot and buried as a spy out in the desert here had I not come in time, walk now, quickly out of here before catastrophe takes place.”

All that night and all the following long day, the insupportable clarity of that incident befell him, to a point of insomnia. Before resuming his tour and adventure, and his equilibrium, he purified himself with prayer, and thanked God, with his heart still throbbing.

Notes: Based on actual events which took place in the summer of 1998, Story No: 484, written: October 2, 2009
About the Author: Read more about this and other topics related to niche markets

There is nothing new

Just a different time, place and political face

Undoubtedly unjustifiable and irreparable, a moral disgrace

9/11, a chance to build global community, was a squandered opportunity

The Presidential cabinet was preoccupied with an Iraqi without WMD

And gains monetary that could be had by a foreign imposition of democracy

Hence we jeopardized our national security and further antagonized the enemy

POTUS deceived us, derailing the appropriate response and agenda

A dream come true and propaganda victory for al Qaeda

Invading Iraq was the Bush administration’s plan long before 9/11

Bush certainly “stayed the course” and didn’t alter his decision

Over 100,000 Iraqi innocents and 3,000 American troops gone

Meanwhile the war machine making a killing fights on

Bush ironically showed himself the ultimate villain

Pursuing Iraq instead of Afghanistan and Pakistan

His knee-jerk Texas oil-man reaction

Despite his motive or intent, the evidence does not relent

Billions of dollars have now been needlessly spent

Our patriotic fervor has come and went

And as for the war on terror, we’ve not even made a dent.

Apparently the trademark “the American people”

Is great political leverage and still for rent.
About the Author: Read more about this and other topics related to cake toppers
